We are currently accepting applications for the PSYL 2019 Program. Applications are processed on a rolling basis and although there is no deadline for application submissions, space is limited.

Follow the steps outlined below to complete the Application Process. If you have any questions regarding the application process, please contact us at psyl@pearsoncollege.ca. 
  1. Create an account with our Registration System - you can do so in the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Register for the program category PSYL 2019 (July 14 to August 3, for youth 15-18 years)
  3. Complete the registration forms as listed below.

Registration for Pearson Seminar on Youth Leadership (PSYL) 2019

Steps to completing your application for PSYL 2019:

  1. Complete the Participant Registration Form.
  2. Complete the Indemnity and Consent Form, the Photo/Video Release Form, the Medical Authorization Form, and the Medical Information Form. These forms will require the electronic signatures of a parent/guardian. We cannot approve your application until this is complete.
  3. When the above is complete you can choose to submit your application for approval and complete the remaining tasks at a later date, which are:
  4. Complete the Essay Questions.
  5. Upload a Photo of yourself. These photos will be used to make a participant board for the cafeteria to help learn each other's names!
  6. Choose your Payment Option (see below for payment option instructions)
  7. Complete your Travel Information. Please complete this form promptly to guarantee transportation to and from the College.
  8. Go to our Website at psyl.ca and click on FOR PSYL PARTICIPANTS and then PSYL Program Information where you will find most of the information you need to know, and the Packing List.
  9. Get excited for PSYL 2019!
PSYL is a challenging experience which requires a full commitment from all who attend. Participants should be:
  1. Responsible, with the ability to profit from new learning experiences;
  2. Open minded in their outlook and interested in community, national and international affairs;
  3. Grade 10-12 and/or Age 15-18 (including those entering Grade 10 in Sept 2019 and those graduating from Grade 12 in June 2019);
  4. Prepared to share their experiences with others.
Accredited Program Details:
PSYL has been approved by the Ontario and BC Ministries of Education to offer students high school credits. In order to receive the credit(s), the student must enroll in the Accredited version of the program.

The Accredited Program sits within the regular program experience with added focus on capturing the Participants experiences and learnings.  The Participants will also be required to attend an extra meeting every few days, complete some additional written work and submit a Final Paper at the end of the Program.
  
Students from Ontario can receive an Interdisciplinary Studies, Grade 12, University Preparation (IDC4U) single credit. The prerequisite for this course is any other university/college preparation course. Please confirm with your school Principal or Academic Counsellor to make sure you qualify to receive this credit.
Students from British Columbia can receive 4 credits at the Grade 12 level through the External Credentials Program. Please confirm with your school Principal or Academic Counsellor to make sure you qualify to receive this credit.
Students from all other areas will need to check with your school Principal or Academic Counsellor to see if you qualify.

Payment Options and Refund Policy:
Our preferred method of payment is by Cheque or Bank Routing (not to be confused with e-transfers).
You may also pay by PayPal, Credit Card and Visa Debit Card (both are via the PayPal link found on your Registration page).

Refund Policy
A full refund will be issued in the event a Canadian Visitor Visa application is declined.
Otherwise, refunds will only be considered in the event of illness or injury.
In the event of a refund, a processing charge of $100.00 will apply when cancelled no later than seven (7) days prior to the start date of the program and a processing charge of $350.00 will apply when cancelled less than six (6) days prior to the start date of the program.
